12v socket in van

Could anyone please tell me what the "car charger" shaped doofer sticking out of my 12v socket n van near tv socket is for ?

It does not appear to do anything, nor did I see a discription in the hand book

Cheers.

Erm, Not sure what you mean. If nobody comes up with any ideas you could e-mail me a picture. I might be able to tell what it is.

Are you saying there's a "cigarette lighter" type socket plugged into your 12v socket?

If so, it may be to run 12v appliances that plug into your car's cigarette lighter.

Any help?

Anthony ,

Rupert's correct. The 'Doofer' will almost certainly be black with a red end, a central spring loaded metal contact and two others at the side. It is a connector for using with any 12v electrical item. The socket (and plug) will be compatible with most other sockets and pugs in your car or with things like i-pod and phone chargers.

Regards
