2003 Avondale Rialto 555-4 with cracked GRP front panel.

Hi all,

I'm new here and would like some advice please.

I just went to see a very nice 555-4 and after reading about Avondale damp problems on here decided to open the front windows and look closely at the "front section" for cracks.

Low and behold there are cracks as people have described. They also appear at the top of the panel where it meets the roof and further down towards the A frame where it rounds back on its self.

Does anyone know how much Avondale might charge to fix this or shall I move swiftly on to the next van?

Is it worth getting if it's cheap? If so what is cheap for a 2003 555-4 with certain future damp problems?

It doesn't seem to be damp inside at the moment.

Your thoughts are most welcome.

Thanks in advance,

Ian.

hello ian,we had a 2003 avondale dart which had cracks appear on the front and rear panels.these were repaired under warranty by avondale.our dealer told us this was a common problem on 2003 and 2004 models due to the panels not being made strong enough.we were told the cracks would not appear in the same place again but may crack somewhere else on the panels.at no time did this cause any water ingress problems.weve recently bought a new sterling as i was fed up keep repairing bits and bobs on it and wouldnt personally touch another avondale so i would keep looking

good luck
