2006 Mondeo 12 volt supply to 12s socket

Hi there does anyone know where I can pick up a live feed ( permenant )other than the ignition switch to run to the 12S socket. I have looked at getting in thro the bulkhead with the existing loom but are unable to penetrate the grommet seals without damaging them. Dont realy want to start drilling holes either.

Pat, I have seen permanent feeds installed by tow bar fitting companies that are fed under the car, from the battery to the boot, and hence to the 7S cable. 2.5mmm twin cable with a 20A fuse fitted in the +ve close to the battery.

hello Pat

I have just finished wiring in my 12s system on my passat. I used a single core length of 4mm wire from the battery through a 20amp fuse, then down the outside of the front panel, keeping clear of the hot spots of course---underneath the car,to the boot. I attatched the cable to my brake pipe using tie wraps every 8 inches. I used a 20 amp relay which I bought from ryder towing, and wired it up to their instructions. I have 14.2v at my socket now.
