3rd party cover CC?

Thinking of changing my insurance and notice that CC insurance gives 3rd party cover. Would this cover damage done to another vehicle? Asking because my current insurers won't cover he damage I did to a car yesterday ๐Ÿ™

[/Moderator Note: Name of Insurer removed due to them threatening legal action against anyone giving them bad reviews. This is a long standing problem with that particular Insurer, as soon as they are mentioned in a bad light they run to the Legal eagles.

Not sure if it applies - but your car insurance covers liability to third parties WHILE the caravan is attached to your car - not the caravan insurance - in this respect I doubt there's any difference in the insurers.

Just read the CC FAQ on this and they confirm that while attached to the car it is the car insurance who cover 3rd party damage.

The problem is that insurer's attitude, not your comment which was factual and actually applies to all caravan insurers - the Moderator's action is understandable but it's a ridulous situation.

Hello Len, no need to apologise to me or any other Moderator, and I agree with Roger that the situation relating to the ones who cannot be named is ridiculous, but that's the way they work.
It says a lot about their business model without saying anything, be warned,,,

After the recent experience with 'them' I'll be moving very soon as I am a member of the Caravan Club now anyway so it makes sense AND it's only a couple of quid a month dearer.

You are making a good and sensible move, you will not regret it, especially if you have to claim.

i've been with CC insurance for over 30 years, always competitive on price and usually giving better cover - other than access to their CL network, the insurance justifies the annual fee.

The third party cover under a caravan policy covers you against claims arising out of your ownership or use when it is not being towed. These are very few and far between and the majority I have seen have been from people falling off the step, usually because it was unsteady, but others can occur.
