6 berth two sets of end bunks?

Hello

We are doing a lot of thinking over which van is going to be best for us at the mo. We have a 4 berth side dinnett, end bathroom at the mo but it's not working too well with our 1 year old and we'd also like another little one fairly soon. We think that the two end bunks might be best as we'd be able to fit the cot in and we'd have two low beds for when the kids are too young for top bunks.

We'd need to buy second hand but would hope to be able to aford something just a couple of years old. Please could anyone tell me which models have this layout??

cheers!

I think you will find that virtually every manufacturer does this layout - Explorer group 556s, Bailey and Swift Group all do it.

I've been looking at the same.We currently have a 5 berth Coachman which is a twin dinette.Out 3 year old sleeps in the bunk and loves it.Only problem is as we leave the bunk down during the day there is less room for her to play - colour etc.

( Especially if it's raining !! )

We like the 6 berth layout with side dinette/end bunks and have looked at Coachman Amara 560/6 and Swift 570.

Not keen on the baileys but that is just personal choice.

Going to the caravan show to see what deal I can get !!

Hi

When you say two sets of end bunks, do you mean four beds in total at the end?, we are selling a 2001 Lunar 6 berth that is a "double end" in that it has seats at the rear just like those at the front but the rear ones make into bunks rather than a double and are closed off by a sliding door.

Garry,

Unfortunately I think you'll Swift Group don't actually do that line up any more, my Sterling Trekker has that layout and there were identical Ace, Conqueror and Abbey models, but they were ALL dropped last year.

Hi there Garfield, sorry it has taken me so long to reply. That is what we are looking for yes. Although we are hoping for a newer van as our current one is 2001.

Out of interest, please could you tell me what you are asking for it - or what you got for it if you have sold it.

Also, have you ever had any problems with it? Im hearing bad reviews of Lunars!

cheers

I think the Avondale Argente 650 offers what you're looking for, and they're quite well finished. They do have quite a cramped lounge though.

I assume if you're looking at that size of 'van you've got a fairly hefty towcar so the fact that the Avondale is quite heavy shouldn't bother you.

Hi, unfourtunatly the weight is a big issue for us. Our max weight is 1500. We dont actually tow the van, it remains sited all year and only needs the occasional tow. But its good to be able to move it if we need to. The Lunar is the only one of this layout that we could move (although not full).

That Avondale 650 is my ideal layout! Maybe when my husbands company car gets upgraded in a few years we will look again!

cheers!
