96 nissan terrano 2.7tdi,any good????

seen one of these for sale,a 96 5 door, has 76000 miles on it,what is the power on these, also are they good on fuel, solo, and towing,,can they be chipped for more power, thanks, adrian

I used to have a Terrano 2.7 Tdi. I found it an excellent towing vehicle. The gearing was excellent, it was quiet for a 4x4 and i got 30 mpg on a long run solo. I would describe it as a very underrated towing vehicle.

had one of these good on a run fuel wise bit thirsty

around town .plenty of power when towing

[why would you want to chip it ]

Dont buy the automatic.

If you tow a large van the Terrano will overheat.

There is not enough radiator to cool the engine, as most of the rad is covered by the auto gearbox cooler & aircon unit.

I know I have one

Horrific on fuel when towing & don't try & overtake anything on the slightest of inclines as it'll run out of puff. Thats my experience towing a 1100kg caravan.

Have had one now for 2 years and have just upgraded the van to a MTPLM of 1700Kg. It is okay so far, but it does guzzle the fuel a bit - but then again what wouldn't??

No problems with it in those 2 years, new exhaust and battery only.

Had 2000 model for 18 months love it would definitely replace with the same when time comes, great tow vehicle, hardly know van on back about 24 round town 28 on long run towing who knows, just got to do it. Great off road but needs knoblier than road tyres for grip agree with other correspondent very underrated
