Rather than pressurising from the water inlet, remove the shower head and screw in the barb hose tail connector. (1/2 BSP is the standard thread for a shower head, 8mm is the approximate diameter for a schrader valve). Connect your compressor and off you go.

I know that you can achieve a similar effect by blowing down the shower hose but using this adaptor and a compressor is so much easier. It won't give you a hernia, it allows you to open and close taps while the pressure is being applied, and you can pressurise the system to 10-12 psi rather than the 2.8 psi the average person can blow.

Well yes - but as long as the drain valve it open then the hot tank will empty

I just blow down the shower - even with COPD and an unrepaired hernia it's not difficult and does the job.

A litre or tow of water spread around the system should not be an issue. The main thing is to remove the filter and make sure all the taps are open.

Absolutely, they are breeding ground for bacteria. Good in domestic systems which do not get exposed to the atmosphere and get regularly changed. But not in a caravan, imho.

Probably a good idea. The filter tends to hold water which if it freezes cracks the casing of the filter. This is only discovered when the caravan is used next and the water leaks out through the crack. Happened to our friends.

Depends on the brand and model of the caravan, but all is revealed in the owner's handbook.

Not all vans have in line filters. However on the vans we had with a filter they were under the sink.

Elldis put an inline filter right under the sink. Very handy as you have to remove the drawers to get at it and almost lie on your back. Didn't even know it existed until the dealer workshop pointed it out to me.

We had ours removed before we took delivery of the caravan as there is no point in having one fitted.
