So there we were with july practical caravan in hand looking for the row boats in Lieden, Holland as featured in the mag.
Found them, showed owner mag, took photos from exact same spot ( yeah i know very sad ) with windmill in background etc.
Had a very pleasant row round the beautiful town under amazing bridges, could not have been nicer.
Thats when it all went wrong !!
Just as the wife stepped out the boat she fell, the arm she put out to steady her went straight in the water along with handbag full of camera, lipstick, perfume and of course the PC mag.
Other arm came crashing down on jetty and as a result she broke her hand!
But wait what about the camera and all the contents of the bag, well 5 mins later there i was in my underpants,8.30 at night in Leiden getting into the canal to retrieve anything i could.
I found the camera on the canal bed with my foot and grabbed it out, everything else was soaking wet and ruined.
The result: the camera dried out and i managed to download the pics at home but it wont take photos, amazing considering it was in the water for 5 mins, the wife spent just an hour in a hospital in Den Haag having 3 x-rays and a plaster cast, how efficient the dutch are.
Just the insurance to deal with now.
If you are in Leiden check the boats out, will e-mail pics to PC to prove there features do have an impact. Literaly !!
