A very disappointing year.

This year has been particularly disappointing. Despite trawling every caravan accessory shop I can find, both online and in passing, I have been completely unable to find this seasons TOTALLY POINTLESS GADGET.

Even the little green tool, which I have never needed in the past, was bought before the Scotland run, and it turned out to be not only needed but usefull.

Come on guys, help me out. The season is well under way and I cannot find any type of useless junk to add to my payload. I am beginning to travel light, I must finally be getting salty.

In desperation, I have even considered buying a brown furry onsey (with Jackass ears) and a pair of purple crocs, knowing of course that I would never wear them. I have found a solar dancing daisy which I considered, but does that really count as caravan related pointlessness.

Do you mean one of these? They come in useful for a number of jobs.
 
Somewhere in the darkest recess of a locker in our caravan are a set of plastic thingy's which supposedly do something or other to eggs in a microwave.
It's something that Herself picked up from one of the caravan accessory shops that we've visited, as I was busy performing the broad strategic strokes that make our caravan breaks run so smoothly, like buying toilet fluid and one of those things that pull awning pegs out of the ground.
As caravan Chef de Cuisine I've never been brave or foolish enough to attempt the microwave egg thing, so there it lurks with quite a few miles under it's belt by now, still in it's original packaging, unused, unloved and useless.
There are other, much more expensive useless pointless purchases that I may or may not have had a hand in buying, but for now I'll draw a discreet veil over the Things At The Back Of The Garage.

No, those ones are for using in a saucepan with boiling water, it just tells you that they're microwave safe.
Our ones are white, supposedly used only in a microwave oven with no water involved, but I never fancied risking it.
Not least because the poached eggs would be like rubber when the microwave went ping.
 
Most useless thing for me was the little green thing for the 13 pin plug. It is not that I did not need it but when I did the thing was so small that I had lost it. Had to buy another which turned out to be a little blue thing.
Not bought any useless gadgets this year, there seems to be nothing new good or bad.

Keep my little green thing in the bag that the detachable towball lives in. The tow all is always carried in the car because the towbar replaced the cars rear cross member which contained its towing attachment point for recovery etc. So no cross member and I would have to use the towbar/ tow ball if I had to attach a tow rope.

I have learned the lesson and the new one is in with the bits for the mover.
