Perhaps there would be less speeding if we had realistic limits on decent roads being policed by human beings.

In my neck of the woods the local `road safety officer` decided to install a load of mini-roundabouts on a dead straight road with no bad sight-lines. This was to `slow traffic down`. Unfortunately, we then had a period of at least a couple of years where there was a spate of accidents (many incurring injuries) on said roundabouts. So now we have an accident problem, so lets get rid of the roundabouts and put in traffic lights, that`ll slow the buggers down! Tough on the poor people who have been injured by this brilliant piece of planning.

Oh, did I forget to mention that the self-righteous , incompetent, blithering idiot responsible for this can`t actually drive? It`s like having a chancellor that can`t add up, but we can`t have one of them. Can we?

Today I've been out with a friend driving me to visit two clients. Main pain in the rear on the M3. M25 and M4 were coach drivers, two we saw talking on mobiles and one pouring his cup of char from a flask into a cup. Two police drivers talking on mobiles during the day and one eating and another smoking, no doubt he stopped to light his ***! Keeping to the limit my friend and I noted a high number of fairly new cars sporting twin electrics whipping past us at well over 80mph.

We did about 420 miles and noted old ladies over limit and a vast majority of others including and oldish looking couple sporting the anniversary CC stickers towing a Swift T/A with a Disco at over 65 up hill on the M4 just West of Reading heading towards Wales at around Lunch Time, I could see the lettuce in the roll the driver was eating before he answered his hands free mobile on a stalk from the windscreen. At junction (unlucky for some)13 for the A34 a kindly coach driver decided he wasn't taking the A34 and just cut out in front of us as he was heading for the A34 and carried on down the M4 and waved two finges at us *** in hand as my friend had dared to hit his horn!

Once again a day on the roads with little sign of the legal perfect driver and we followed a police car as we approached home with his rear fog lights on just to make our day.

Not really Alan the lorries are just as bad, If you are on the road every day you must see very many of the same silly incidents.

The Neoplan driver out of site of his passengers pouring his cuppa has to take the biscuit especially when it was a Neoplan that turned over the other week.

wot me speeding osifer never ive got a road angel never speed near camaras ever honest

seriously though iv'e read the comments and by enlarge agree camaras are a rip off not because they enforce speed limits and reduce accidents which they probably do in some cases but on looking round at where there sited gives it away

20 yards inside a 30mph area when it was 60mph before so as to catch the motorist a little slow in braking before the limit post and on dual carrage ways where the speed limit is artifcialy lowered for the type of road why must I ask should a dual carrage way be 30?? who will use the out side lane certainly not anyone overtaking unless its a tractor or a milk float sorry the dont speed dont get caught approach is a little thin i'm afraid

if you get caught by a camara its because you dont know where they are locals do so follow them 30 at the camara up to 60 then brake sharply for the next camara down to 30 now theres a way to cause an accident is it not

ok dont speed great but whats the limit it dont always tell you go into any town or city and look how many signs there are all at once as you go in then for the next 3miles zero in between 10 camaras

I was in a strange town the other week doing 30 because it was a built up area and there were camaras on the road when other cars were right up my rear flashing lights and honking horns ect until I realised the speed limit had gone up to 50mph because the only sign was hidden in the hedge rows

you said ,, if you get caught by a camera its because you dont know were they are ,,, you get caught because you have gone over the speed limit for that section of road.. its a speed camera.
