Adverts appearing on posts!

OK Mr. Mod,

Whats with the link which is an advert for the CC&C appearing on all the posts, surely this contravienes rule number 6 "You may not transmit any advertising or promotional material" of the forum etiquette!

If this is permanent they can shove the forum and magazine.

I posted a seemingly amusing message about insurance, with no derogatory content, but just an amusing note I found whils getting a quote, and the whole post was removed.

My estimations of this website has gone down considerably now.

However I saw a post for a certain winter wheel type security device and a certain poster was blatantly slagging off the device and promotor (the company owner I suspect). That posts seemed un-editied.

How come ? ? ?

It is a bit 2 faced pc, we can't mention any name and it is the forum rules that one should not transmit any advertising but every single post now appears with an advert for the c&cc. puzzled and sorry that you have stooped so low.

Everybody on this forum knows who they want to be with so the blatent advertising is a waste of time.

The owners of the web site make the RULES simple as that. Just ignore the advert, what harm does it do to you ???. Climb off the horse and chill, as someone told me earlier ---)))

There is nothing more likely to put me of a product or service than the likes of the add appearing on the bottom of the postings. Unfortunately you cannot do as you can with magazines that is hold them over the rubbish bin and shake them all out.This current situation is worse than spam e-mails.

This ad is so very irritaiting and intrusive that it is distinctly counter productive.

Most firms have learnt that this is a stupid idea.

I shall now be off to other forums, though I may check occasionaly to see if the have come to their senses.

Having just emailed the Mods about this irritating free advertising I am also off to other forums. Might be back occasionally to see if it gets sorted.

Take it off, I've just cancelled my membership because I think they're second rate so why would I want to join again ?

Modifying a contributor's post by adding an advert that that contributor may not support is mis-representation.

If we can't name and shame, when justified, then I'm not accepting this!

The poster, a regular contributor in several of our forums, did mention her company website, but only in replying to another member's query suggesting something that might help.

Blatant unsolicited advertising by a forum member is not acceptable. But if someone has posted a query, and another member can suggest a relevant solution that could solve that person's problem, then it would be shooting ourselves in the foot to doggedly delete it because it is a retailer who suggests a solution.

There are bound to be grey areas. If you think we've missed some blatant advertising, let us know.

I have also recently discontinued my membership of the said club, Brian!!! The last time I visited one of their sites was 2 years ago and it contained more caravans than tents! The facilities hadn't improved on the 10 years we had 'taken out'! It looks like us vanners were keeping them 'in business' --- is that why we had the errant posting from them?

No wonder people go caravanning to get away from the stresses of everyday life such as being a member of this forum.

You really need to get out more people. You'll make yourselves ill.
