Advice on Route Please

I'm soon due to head off through France and then to the north of Spain and would appreciate any advice on route, areas to avoid and any general information anyone can give. We are driving from Ferry terminal at Zeebrugge to a Site just outside L'Estartit. We have booked an overnight stop at Camping Chateau de L'Eperviere en route which is in Gigny-sur-Saome, just off the main road south. I am sure that sometime in the past I read a posting about avoiding a certain route through or around Lyon, can anyone advise on this?

Unless you want to travel a very long way, to get to where you are going you will need to go around Paris or Lyon. Paris can be challenging but I have never found Lyon a problem as long as you go around the outside and not through the city. Stick to the motorway all the way and your journey should be a doddle.
