Advise on effect 60kg maximum noseweight

We are looking to buy a second hand Jaguar X-Type which has a maximum noseload of 60kg.

The caravan we tow is a Bailey Ranger 510/4 (2005) which has a MIRO of 1031kg and a MTLPM of 1259kg.

If using the '7% noseweight' advise, this would be really short (about 4.5-5%).

We are getting our caravan out of storage to check that we can get the noseweight down this low, but does anyone see a problem with having the noseweight this low?

Can anyone help? Thanks

Hi Clare, 7% can be too much for a lot of vehicles, it is for my own car now. I used to tow a van of a similar weight to yours with a Sierra and that had a noseweight restriction of 50kgs. If this is the case then that is the figure to be used. My previous van towed well with the Sierra even at 50kgs but I made sure that I got the 50kgs on the towball and placed everything else over the axle to keep the van stable.
