Air con units are quite heavy, and in view of your earlier comment on the Towcar message board when you wrote that you were considering buying an outfit that towed at a weight ratio of 94% my honest opinion in that case would be neither.

I forgot about them.
Why not attach some fan blades to their little wheel thingy that they usually play on at 3 o clock in the morning, and they could take it in turns to cool each other down with a guinea pig powered fan?

No it's because I am thinking if taking the caravan to alot of hot countries so I thought done NICE people may give me some suggestions on whether to buy a portable or a roof mounted unit that's all. No need to be mean

I'm only joking Mikaroony and you started it off with the how to keep guinea pigs cool question

Ah right. Do you have a caravan then? Do you have air con?

Yes, we have an Abbey 620 Vogue dealer special but we don't need aircon.
The weight penalty for our caravan would be too great, it would mean less payload.
Air con units are often noisy and will disturb neighbouring caravanners, another reason not to have one.
We have a roof mounted solar panel which is of far greater use to us than an air con unit.

have you looked at "cool my camper". I don,t have one but I think that they are lighter than roof mounted.Also if you are not going somewhere hot you can leave it at home.

I have a Cool my Camper unit. My experience has been mixed so far n. The first one packed up after a few days use at home in the hot spell we had this summer but the dealers very promptly dispatched a replacement. I took it to the south of France in September and we found it did what we wanted without being too noisy for the neighbors. However when we then moved into Spain and a site with a dodgy (no earth) power supply it refused to work not sure if this was the problem or reversed polarity (which I was unable to test due to the lack of earth).This is probably no bad thing and it worked fine once back on an earthed supply. It is quite heavy and will have to travel in the car but I do think it will probably turn out to be very useful when we are in hot places again.
