Alde Trouble

Hi folks. My Alde 3010 is working just lovely on hook up, but on gas it’s going through a startup cycle then throwing a gas out error. The gas is fine, and the battery voltage top line. I’ve swapped the whole burner unit with a new one and still no joy. The fan is running up and there is ignition, but it cuts off almost immediately. Is this a PCB fault?

By a process of elimination you have more or less suggested it's the PCB. I suggest you contact an ALde service center so they can give a fully professional opinion or actually arrange to do the necessary repairs. and final testing for safety.

Has the cover been removed from the gas exhaust?

The description also suggests the flame failure device otherwise know as a thermocoupleis not working. It is a small stalk, maybe a couple of inches long, that sits in the burner flame. If the flame extinguishes immediately when you release the ignition button there is a good chance the thermocouple is to blame. Thankfully it is cheap (well under a tenner) and is simple to replace. Admittedly you should use a gas approved worker to do the job, but.........

I think the lighting of the Alde is electronic. So no button to hold in. But neverthelessless, I imagine there is a flame sensor leading back to a pcb.
