Many have concluded that the best thing in the rinse tank is plain water ....with if you wish a spray bottle with whatever perfume you like .

Likewise, many of us find that bio liquid washing pods (Aldi/Lidl) work far better than any of the toilet fluids ...and much cheaper.

I have recently stopped using any kind of pink toilet flush, it causes gunge.

I have tried the bio washing capsules, I did not find any problems but also did not find any advantages, I did not persevere with them to draw any meaningful conclusions, sorry.

I am now trying a couple of squirts of washing up liquid in the flush reservoir, no pretty colour, no nice scent, but it seems to be effective as a rinse agent, early days, but I will be using washing up liquid until I find something better.

My view is that the qualityperformance of the bowl sanitiser additive is the most important factor, right now I am using the Aldi product with acceptable results.

I have used this Blue Diamond Product for years and it works very well. I would just like to reply to a previous post that the pink and the blue work together as any other of the products the two help to break down the solids in the cassette . I know different caravanners have different ideas but this is what Ive used for years .There is a range of Blue Diamond products including a black streak remover that also very good. Just like to add the Pink flush doesnt leave any black in the flush tank like a certain product that used to .
I hope this helps

We've used the Elsan pink & blue products for the last 5 years or so and I've never had any problem with mine .

Experience tells me that water only in the flush tank results in serious algae build up. Elsan pink has kept ours clean for years.
The more you tour / use the caravan the more important the “pink”.

I have used the blue and it works well. Never seen the point of the pink stuff. We do not use anything at home so why do you need it in the caravan?

This is a subject that we killed off quite sometime ago. I know I will get slated for this but it doesnt matter which make of the the toilet chemicals you use they are all designed to do the same thing and that is to break down solids in the waste tank.Instruction say 75m in the waste tank and 2 ltrs of water. 75m of pink rinse in the flush tank whatever make you use mixes with the chemicals in the waste tank and breaks down the solids and also leaves the toilet with a perfumed smell.Again this is a matter of choice as to whos chemicals you use .. As you can see from previous posters already differing methods .

I had an Avondale caravan for 5 + years which had the flush direct from the aqua roll supply so there was no option of adding pink or any other additives to the flush, it was water or water, in all that time we never had none of the black algae in the flush, we had no smells from the cassette and whenever I emptied the cassette it was as easy as you could ever hope for with nothing smelly or solid to dispose of, as often is the case this is a topic where people have different results using chemicals of different makes or using nothing, what works for one won’t necessarily work for the next, but as in lots of things in life we each need to try things for ourselves and see what works

I would caution against using any additives not specifically designed for caravan and camping toilets, not because of how well they may or may not work in the toilet, but because you won't necessarily know where you'll be riding of them.

Quite a number of smaller sites may only have a septic tank for foul waste disposal, and these tanks rely on bacterial action to break down the waste products. Using washing tabs or other non specific chemicals may kill or impede these bacteria from working.

Good point Prof
Some sites we use will only allow green toilet solutions.
Most of the club sites and cls allow all solutions.
On Beehpee point, systems taking the flush water direct from the aquaroll don’t have a separate flush tank so will never get an algae build up

If you want to be green or use sites that require green chemicals then the Aldi ones are not suitable.
