My fuel gauge has ceased to work, and been back to dealer 3 times, but still a problem.

As I am new to this vehicle, has anyone a rough figure when towing a 1400 kg van. Solo I get around 40mpg and can judge the fuel capacity from the miles covered. I would assume that it would drop to around 26/28 mpg towing, but as I am going to France it would be nice to have some sort of figure from another's experience!

Also, has anyone had a problem with fuel gauges in VAG vehicles - I seem to remember Audi had a problem a while back??

Hi Pete, i have just towed my twin axle weight around 1500kg's 230 miles, consisting of motorway and varying A class roads which where up and down at times, through to Devon.

The trip computer is indicating 29.7 mpg, , hope this helps.

We get 40-45 mpg solo (mixed) and around 25-28 mpg towing van with 1710kg MTPLM - van never fully loaded although car is.
