Alko 3004 Hitch problem....

Hi All

Went away in my caravan last weekend for the 1st time this season and had a problem with my alko 3004 hitch actually going onto the ball.... It was very tight plus trung to get it off was very tight and took ages? I've got the proper ball etc on my tow vehicle so not sure what's causing it???

Anybody had a similar problem? Going again on friday!!!

Thanks

Hi Alun,

What type of car do you tow with - I used to have a Citroen C5 and found the hitch reluctant to release on many occasions.

I now have a VW Passat and that is OK.....just a thought

Alun, try relesing your stabeliser before you drive onto your pitch eg. once you have booked into reception and make sure your brake is not compressed, some times even releasing your hand brake (on level ground) will take the tension away from your hitch, works for me

Hi Alun

As I understand it, unless the stabiliser arm is absolutely fully vertical when hitching / unhitching there could be a problem getting the hitch onto or off the ball. That may be your problem.
