No I didnt speak to Powrwheel about it because in all fairness their fitter told me about it before he started work.

AL-KO were not a lot of help. They first told me it would be OK to drill the chassiss then changed their mind when I asked for confirmation in writing. Strange that!!!!

The jack is rated at something like 800kg static load and Fleetwood supply this to raise a van with a max mass of 1700kg.

I'm hoping to get away with the van for a shakedown weekend when the weather improves and I intend trying the ramp idea then.

I'll let you know if it works.

In terms of safety you would be a lot safer with the ramp than any sort of jack, as long as you chock the wheel and leave the car hitched up.

Hi Clive. If it's any use,we had Reich movers fitted front and rear to our Coachman T/A (Alko chassis). The fitter told us that Reich sell brackets which clamp to the bottom of the chassis' no drilling , to replace our lost jack mounts. I believe they were

Just tried the idea of raising a wheel by using my levelling ramp under the other wheel.

It doesn't work. Used full height of the ramp, about 4.5" and the other wheel was still grounded.

My 08 Vanmaster came with a hydraulic bottle jack as VM did not trust the Alko.

I have used my blocks before to run the good wheel up and then change the flat tyre, no use for fitting locks though.

I have a Fleetwood heriatage twin axel and have invested in a Kojack hydraulic jack, it comes with its own jacking points which bolt on to the chasis - it has solved the problem for me.

I just block the wheels on the off side take off the hand brake, jack up the wheels till both wheels are off the ground and put on the locks. I makes a hard job easy. Lower the van slowly other wise you may have to jack the van up again to take off the locks as the wheels rotate against the locks.

HiJohn

great pic and mod.

I'll have a look at mine tomorrow if it's not raining. I assume any mod I make will be much the same as yours.

Are you able to let me know the dimensions ie length breadth height?

Cheers

Alan
