All of her family eat pork but a lot of them don’t eat beef. I think a lot depends on religious background etc. to be honest a lot of them are vegetarian.
The predominate areas for eating Pork, in India, is Goa, on the mid west coast of India, and Assam in the North East. , I work for 3 years in Surasaniyanam, Andhra Pradesh, . Loved it, bit of a commute to get there. 2 days each way.

I was surprised when visiting Assam and Bhutan that pork dishes were on menus. Don’t know why but I’d generally assumed it was a No No, but those areas are quite different to the larger Indian areas, and closer to Myanmar and China where pork is common.
