Back in 1980 we had a NR Nimrod trailer tent. Two burner gas hob folded down at the back ,under cover. Not for me today.Completely agree DD; plus any fat/food splatters will ruin the fabric. Also the dreaded CO risk if there is not enough ventilation. However, back in the day when we had a trailer tent we cheerfully used the gas hob and grill inside 🤔.

Although we have used numerous sites in the UK and abroad, we have never come across this restriction although we have never used our charcoal BBQ in the awning. Many sites will not let you use it and frankly it is an unnecessary risk.
I know many caravans have the barbeque point on the nearside, but this has to be because the car goes the other side on most sites. If you cannot get the barbeque clear of the awning then use it outside connected direct to the bottle.

Bailey got it right 15 years ago. The BBQ gas point is on the O/S . So unless you breach the regs with an over length gas pipe you cannot use it in the awning.
It does reach the front of the hitch. I guess it depends where the sun is and where the others are sitting😜Did they see cause to change it over the intervening years?
I for one want to be part of the social scene when cooking, as I see that part and parcel of entertaining, not put away out of it, but then maybe I differ from others.
They did - my Bailey has it on the front near side. I also want to be sociable whilst cooking outside. Never in or near the awning, but I would probably use it under the canopy.Did they see cause to change it over the intervening years?

Walk into B&Q and buy 10m and no questions asked plus a lot cheaper than any dealer most of whom have no understanding of laws and guidelines. When we bought the hose for ours from a local dealer they did say that 2 metres was the maximum. They have no reason to suggest this limit unless it was correct. I have no technical knowledge on the subject though.
