Aquasource Mains water kit

Hi there,

I've been looking at the Aquasource Mains water kit and was wondering if anyone has tryed one and to what they are like, eg: reliability.

We have used fully serviced pitches several times now and are booked to use one again in a couple of weeks time, so we thought if may be an idea to invest in an aquasource mains kit.

I understand you can also get a kit with a ball **** which fits to your aquaroll, however my aquaroll does not have the side cap , so for this type I would also need to change my aquaroll.

Look forward to your comments.

Cheers

Andrew.

There is a write up in this month's CARAVAN magazine on this and it had good review - although they did say that unless regular use was made of it, it was a bit on the pricey side. I would ask if there is some form of pressure reducing valve in the system as I would have thought mains pressure would be high for caravan taps. Also would it have an anti back flow valve to prevent any contaminated water from the van system getting back into the main supply?

First impressions I was quite taken with this and would consider one myself. Lets wait and see what the general opinion is.

Hello Andrew

Sadly, you may well be disappointed by the Aquasource when used as intended. The issue is that the wall connector block contains a pressure reducing valve that, whilst necessary, has the effect of reducing the flow as well. In my case the flow was less than the nornal flow from the submersible pump in the Aquaroll, although you do do get an initial surge.

Instead, I use it to fill the onboard tank, and then use the onboard pump. Should you have this tank, this would be a cheaper solution than a new Aquaroll and mains valve, although you can make up the latter yourself.

Hi Andrew

We have used both systems, much prefer the Aquaroll float system,we never seemed to get enough pressure with the Aquascource, you can pick up another Aquroll from ebay, cheaply.

We have the the float system for the Aqua roll ,while my friend bought the one that connects into the side of the van , we both changed our caravans at the same time ,i could still use mine ,my friends new van had a different fitting ,hence he had to sell his old unit and buy the Aqua roll unit
