audi allroad

Hi

Been looking at the audi allroad 2.5tdi. 2003/4/5

to replace my old tow car. I'm towing a new Bailey Sancerre

Anyone got any experiance or views etc please

Cheers

The allroad is a good tow car I have an 07. The suspension module was the achilles heel on the year you are looking at. When you test drive one make sure it has a full service history and that the suspension works in all positions. The turbo diesel is virtually unburstable but like all engines needs care and attention; I have not heard of any problems with the gearbox whether it is an auto or manual. If I were you I would have a look at the VWAudi forum. Good luck.

Hi, Iv'e towed with a 2.5 tdi allroad for a few years now. I find it a very capable tow car and you get the best of both world's. Youve got a luxury car while solo with 30+ mpg and a heavy tow car. Mine has got the tiptronic box which I have had trouble with but I've had no problems at all with the suspension. Would recommend.

Had an 03 for 4years, bought at 1 year old and 10K miles.

It was a great car and towed our abbey TA very well, BUT

Solo MPG (for 2.5tdi tiptronic) 27 to 29 - once 31!

Towing 22 to 24, once 18(!) - in France and late for the Ferry.

Tyres 120 - 150 per corner and about 10k per set

it also needed new gear box (
