Audible relay ???

hi

I am puzzled as to fitting an audible relay to my new 13 pin trailer socket, ( A legal requirement they reckon) I have a Kia Sorento 2008, to which I fitted a brink tow bar and 13 pin electrics, pretty straightforward!

But I omitted the audible relay, but all diagrams only refer to 12N/12S wiring systems.

Can anyone HELP?

If you have a look here :

13pin wiring diagram

When i bought my dedicated wiring loom i had to swap the flasher unit under the dash..... that buzzes when the van is coupled up......

Maybe you can just get another flasher unit ?

The law says you must have an indication of whether the trailer indicators are working, or not actually.

It does not specify whether it ha to be audible or visual, it can be either.

So, if you connect your van up to your car, with indicator bulbs in place, the visual indication on the dashboard should flash in time with the indicators.

If you then remove a bulb from the van, if the indication is different, normally a very fast flashing, then you have what is required.

You can of course get a buzzer to wire into the indicators
