Avondale front panels

Hi,

Had our March 2005 Avondale Argente 624 in for it's first service and was told that I had two small cracks in the front panel which will need replacing. The service manager told me Avondale's panel suppliers have a design problem with the moulds they used on the front and rear panels. I dont have a problem with the rear as yet but I do have these two stress cracks in the front. Anyone had this job done yet and what is the final result and time scale for the repair.

Thanks in advance.

Ian

Hi,

Just had a replacement for the front on our avondale 480/2 2004 model. - Apart from our dealer rather mucking the logistics up - the job took about 1 week (or rather they had it for a week - i think the actual repair took about 3 - 4 days).

Job was done very well - and can't see the repair - apart from the front lockers door now seems a bit proud - will get them to look at that next service (as we didn't see the job as they dropped it off to off).

BTW - Our dealer says that the cracks don't repair - they had the panels makers in to show them how to do it - and the crack reopened before the van left the workshop. - So keep an eye on the back pannel before the warranty runs out (interestingly our back pannel is also fine).
