Hi all I know they are expensive, but anyone got an Avtex tv.

Two reasons im thinking of getting one, firstly they are low voltage and can work of the 12v when on rallies.
Secondly and more importantly I like the idea of having a built in sat box, so when on sites with no signal I can set up the satelitte dish and plug straight in without having extra boxes and wires trailing around.

Any thoughts or reveiws would be great

I too have toyed with the idea of an Avtex.
They look cool and as you have said, they would rid the van of lots more wires (including a separate DVD player).
But at £3-400, they're a big investment...

The newer ones have satellite built into them, I believe (not Sky - but the 'Free' channels that you get with the Maplins/Lidl/Aldi kits).

I'm wary of the built-in DVD player - what if it goes wrong?
Does anyone have any experience of these?
How reliable are they?

Finally - where's the best place to get them from (price wise)?
