Awning Annex

I have an Isabella awning about 8 years old. I want to add a bedroom annex so we take the grand kids with us from time to time.

The question I have is, can I only use an Isabella annex, which would be expensive for the old awning and occasional use it will get, or would other makes zip in? I have seen a few Dorema annex's on Ebay but reluctant to buy unless I know it would fit.

some other make annexes may have the same zip size, but the

only way to know for sure is to actually try to mate them up.

the other problem is the opening size of the awning compaired to

someone elses annexe.

If you found an annexe cheap enough and its opening is a match

for your awnning, then its not too expensive to found a shop

that does alterations, so he can fit a zip to the annexe that

matches the zip on your awnning...

Awning annexes that I've always seen zip into the place an end wall zips into.

As Gio says, the zips need to match for them to fit.

We always used an inner tent for the kids, it just clips and hangs from the awning poles in one half of the awning and pegs to the floor.

They take half the Awning space at night but can easily be folded away in the day.

Also they do not attact to the fact that children are sleeping in the Awning or get a charge for an annexe.

If you have a reasonable sized Awning it may be a better / easier and cheaper option.

Richard, I also have an isabella awning about 8 years old and I was looking at annex's. I found these advertised but do not know anything about them. Apparently they fix onto existing poles on any awning.

If anyone has any info on these we would be grateful.

Graeme.
That looks ok, but they are avoiding the zip issue by tieing

it inside the opening left when the end wall is removed.

It may be water tight but I can't see how they seal the awning to the annexe, I would expect the opening edges to flap around in a wind.

Yep, from the photo's it looks like a good seal, but as you said it must flap in a breeze.

Wondered if anyone has one of these universal annex's.

Thanks for the replies on this query. I am the original poster but couldn't get back on the forum so had to re register.

I am sure I read somewhere that Isabella also make another brand of awning. That could give me other options as regards finding an annex that will fit. Anyone know what the other brand might be?

Richard
