Hello

After spending a week living in our awning (small baby asleep in the van!) we have decided we need an awning carpet. We are on the same pitch all year and have slabs down so we are not harming any grass.

Can anyone recomend what type we should get and where from? Im very new to this living in the awning lark!

Also, any other tips to make it a bit more cozy and welcoming would be welcome! We nearly gave up caravaning last week after a cold evening huddled round our heater!! :( I have to keep reminding myself it is only April and it will get better!!

Hi Abby,

We've tried all sorts, groundsheets, breathables, rugs/carpets etc - the trodden-in forest-floor sticks to them all like glue!! But we've solved the problem with a ten quid off-cut of cushion vinyl, laid on top of the groundsheet and filling most of the awning area, particularly in front of the awning door. It's easy to sweep out and wipes over too if necessary. A cheap carpet off-cut underneath might also keep your awning warmer if you can keep it dry. Not practical if you're touring, but that's not a problem if you're there all year...
