Awning rail repair??

Does anyone have experience of straightening out damaged sections??? Slight run in with a gate post :-(

the main thing is making sure it is sealed to the van,there is not a lot you can do with it once its damaged

but to make the channel usable

find an old number plate and use it to run down the channel

tap it through with a hammer

take the screws out if there is a lot of bending involved, you will be able to straigthen quite a bit but you must seal behind and then screw back on

most caravan shops will sell you a tool to straighten your awning rail for a couple of quid.
