AWNINGS

HI I BOUGHT A PTRAMID ORION AWNING LAST YEAR I FOUND THE AWNING TO BE VERY GOOD VALUE FOR MONEY BUT THE STORM STRAPS JUST DONT HOLD DOWN I A BREEZE NEVER MIND A WIND THE STRAPS SUPPLIED CLICK INTO A SEWN IN BUCKLE BUT THEY PULL OUT VERY EASY HAS ANYONE ANY IDEAS HOW TO ALLEVIATE THIS PROBLEM AS PYRAMID SAY I AM THE ONLY PERSON TO COMPLAIN ABOUT THIS FAULT (ALLEGEDLY) HA HA

Hi Alan, please do not use capital letters it's a form of shouting at us on this forum. Plus it hurts my eyes when reading. Sorry I cannot help with your awning. Liz

We had the same problem with the buckles for a Tuscany awning tie down kit.

Solution? Bend the prongs out slightly on the male part of the buckle. Be careful cos they`ll snap off if you use too much pressure, but that cured ours.

A word of warning to all, the major manufactures of awnings will NOT (sorry for shouting) commit to warranty claims for damage where one of these Bands are used, as they do not reccomend them due to excessive force placed on the frame in the wrong places,i.e the centre poles, this is because they place a downward force (strapping effect) rather than a support for side to side movement.

Hope this helps,

have you checked the straps are in the buckles correctly, we have same problem with our pdq awning couldn't work out why they didn't hold, every time we pulled to check it lew out and then just took it out and tried in out and round they other ways untill bingo, it stopped slipping,
