I purchased a Bailey Ranger 5 birth brand new back in 2005 and had no issues with it untill now,

on a recent holiday i found what seems to be damp, on discovering this i went to the dealer where the carvan was bought to see if they knew what the casue of this once, the dealer seemed to know exatcly what the issue was and it seems to be a fault with this model, has anyone had this issue before?

let me guess bailey ranger series 5 2005 ah yes, damp from front panel. The front panels have a recognised fault with them and crack along the top edge - new panel required under warranty no problem. We had the same problem nothing to worry about. You have kept up your servicing haven't you??

Les, would be interested to hear where you found the damp as I think I have an issue with my 2004 Bailey Discovery, thankfully still under 6 year water ingress warranty. I wonder whether mine's got the same fault.

by left from locker I assume you mean the inside left front wall cupboard. Our damp was found in the same place on the other side. I'd say it's the classic ranger fault, a cracked top edge of the panel. New panel will be required although it maybe possible to do a temporary repair while the panel is ordered to prevent further damage, in the beautiful summer wwe are having. I'm in cornwall and it has rained for 3 days solid.

Robfooty's right im sure. Our Ranger had a cracked front panel which was replaced under warranty with no problem at all. The dealer even did a temporary repair so we could use it for a weeks holiday we had booked and then replaced the panel after that.

Now here's a co-incidence.

My friends bailey pageant series 5 Vendee has the same problem. He can see nothing at all , but his dealer did a temporary repair and assured him a new front panel has been ordered and will be fitted early october ( by choice of my mate I should add).

Maybe there was a faulty batch of ABS panels, who knows. Anyway by all acounts the dealers and Bailey have responded positively, with no question.

Cheers

Alan
