I have just purchased A Bailey Pageant Imperial (97)

vintage, and found that Bailey have disconnected the Blue wire in the 12S (Grey) plug. Will there be any harm if I re-connect the blue wire direct to the + terminal of the caravan battery with a 15amp inline fuse. I use an electric mover to get the van out and it uses quite a bit of power, so need to charge the battery whilst on the move through the split relay charger.

Is this a good idea ??????????

Since September '98, the blue wire in the 12S cable isn't used. A relay in the caravan switches the green wire between battery charging when the red (fridge) circuit is energised and interior lights, etc when the red isn't energised. the black is allocated to earth the fridge circuit independently of the white earth wire.

Your car and caravan need to be wired to the same convention, ie pre-'98 or post-'98.
