Off to the C.C.C site Barnard Castle next week,any tips on walks and local places to visit also local pubs with good food would be apreciated.

Hi Roy.

We were up at Barnard Castle last month.However,we didn't stay at the C&CC site at Lartington as,to be honest,it,s a bit isolated for our taste. There's no pub or eatery in the village. In act there nothing except houses in the village.

We stayed a couple of miles further along the same road,at Doe Park in Cotherstone.It,s a commercial site but it was well up in the Practical Caravan Top 100 Sites a couple of years ago.

The amenities are excellent and in June we payed
