Battery Issue

I have a 18 month old 110amp/h battery that is slowly losing its charge. It is fitted into a Bailey senator indiana.

We are currentley on site for a month & the voltage has dropped from 13.5 down to less than 11 v over 2 weeks.

My concern is that when we move off, it will not activate the motor mover.

The battery charger fuse in the main box is ok.

Is the battery shot or is there another fuse hiding in the Indiana?

An thoughts or suggestions welcomed.

If you're on a site with electric hook-up - the on-board power supply has failed for some reason - the voltage will show 13v even with no battery.

If you're off hook-up you've done exceptionally well to last a fortnight.

at 11v it probably won't operate the mover.

Vera,

At the risk of stating the obvious, is the charger switched on? you may be hooked up to the EHU, but unless the charger is switched on (its under the nearside front seat) the battery will discharge over that period.

Also at 11v it WILL NOT operate the mover.

George - the on-board power supplies on many modern caravans don't have a switch - but it does need checking in case there is one.

try disconnecting the battery and measure the voltage at the terminals (wires) not the battery. You should have more than 13V for charging to occur. If you have less or nothing then the charger has a problem.
