Battery

Hi all ive a Elddis Avante 482 2007, i bought a new battery 4 month ago and it was all ok but ive had it on mains charge for 2 weeks and its losing charge ive checked the fuses all ok the 230v is ok has any one any ideas what could be the problem. Thanks.

Hi P38.

You could check it’s not the caravan causing the problem easily enough. Simply try to charge the battery with it off the van. Once charged let it settle for a couple of hours and check the voltage, then do that daily. A good battery should have little discharge over a couple of months. Any problem you could try a warrentee claim, but at least you will have recorded the facts.

Welcome to the forum, there are many things that can draw on your battery.
Have you turned off the main power in the caravan, ?
The TV aerial booster ( if you have one ) can draw power.
The radio fromt panel can draw the power.
The caravan alarm draws power. On some fridges the control panel draws power
Is it a battery that need to be topped up with distilled water, do any of the cells need water ?
