For anybody interested in World War 2 there is a 'wartime weekend' on the Severn Valley Railway which is a preserved steam railway between Bridgnorth and Kidderminster in Worcs this coming weekend.
The SVR will run a 'wartime service' with various displays, stalls and entertainment on the railway and at other local venues over this weekend with the promise of good weather.
A C&CC rally with a 40s themed social evening is taking place at Woodhouse Farm, Button Oak near Bewdley, Worcs which is close to Arley station to coincide with the SVR wartime weekend and a fly past consisting of the Lancaster, Spitfire and Hurricane of the BBMF is scheduled for 10.30am along the length of the line on Saturday morning.

There are loads of 1940s based events around with military vehicles, historic aircraft and of course re-enactors to add to the atmosphere. Many of these allow camping and caravans and motorhomes so you can make a weekend of things. Here's a couple of pictures which you might enjoy ww2nut.

My friend's husband used to be the pilot on the Lancaster bomber, part of the Battle of Britain memorial flight team. Boy did he have some stories to tell!
