beaches around looe, cornwall

Hi Joanne, there is one beach at Looe and it isn't that great. You can drive to whitsand bay about 10 mins away and that is better. I personally prefer the beaches on the north coast of Cornwall ( I live near St Austell). There are some nice sites up near Padstow like Harlyn Bay, Mother Iveys bay, St Miver. Hope this helps. As for Looe itself, I think people either love it or hate it. I used to work in a bank in the town and it is heaving in the summer with little narrow streets and loads of sh--hawks! (seagulls). Depends what you like but there are much nicer places in Cornwall. We are off to Bude in August Wooda Farm Park and the beaches up in Bude are gorgeous. Denise

From Looe up the coast towards Plymouth there are several beaches...you have -

Seaton beach - easy access - parking right in front, grey/shingley sand

Lansallos -(nr Polperro) seen it - but never been on it!

Portwrinkle - not good access - cliff top car park, steps down

you may be better off going "downwards", or as someone else said to the north coast.
