Bed slats

I have an 'L'shape seat arrangement to the rear of my Elddis caravan which forms a double bed. However the length of the slats is long enough to bend significantly to the point that the first slat broke this summer. Has anyone else suffered this and if so did they find a long term solution? Bearing in mind I am no carpenter I am looking for a simple fix not a mammoth rebuild.

What we did was bought some lengths of wood 6foot by 3inches wide and 1/2 inch thick. First measure the length of original slats. Cut the new wood the same length several time so you might have about 10 to 12 new slats.

Lay them accross the gap where the slats go evenly spread out and staple along 2-3 inches in from the end of each slat, useing 3 inch wide curtain tape. Then turn the slats over so the webbing is underneath and then just put bed furnishing on top and you have extra strong slats for what ever you need them for!! They fold up easy for storage.
