Been to Croatia?

All the sites in Istria seem to be enormous - one advertising 3000 pitches, however an exception is Camping Oliva at Rabac, which has only 475!! (2,500 people!!!) Haven't actually been, but it looks nice with a beach on site - website www.maslinicarabac.com - and appears to be reasonably priced. Hope this helps - someone else may have a more personal recommendation.

We went to Croatia last year. We stayed in Vsar at a site called Porta Sole. Large site, but the approach road seems to divide the site in two, making it feel less busy. Also the site was not fully booked even for August. Kids liked the pool but spent most of their time snokling in the clear water surrounded by the fish. The main town a plesant walk only 500m away. Incidently we were the only English on site at the time, but we were made very welcome as if they appreciated the effort to get there. So much so, we are going back again this year, but further South.

We are heading for Croatia on Sat 18th(this w/e) and will be back on 7th July, so will be able to help then!!

Hi JimF,

We are off to Croatia on 29th May until 5th July.As yet we don,t where we will be but look out for a Hymer caravan with GB plates, there are not too many.

We went to Croatia 2 years ago and stayed at Lanternacamp - a very large site. We have 4 kids aged from 7 to 13 at the time and they all enjoyed themselves. Although the site is large it has a vilage feel with the shops and restaurants arranged on a couple of roads away from the units, we were never disturbed at night. The Croatians welcome the English (highly unusual in every other country we have visited), they don't expect you to speak to Croatian but are thrilled if you make the effort.
