Just wondering what preferences fellow members have when travelling europe for planning routes and costs. There are many to chose from i.e. Michelin,Mappy,Autoroute.fr,rac aa etc but which one does the best job ...you're thought would be welcome.

I use Microsoft Autoroute on my computer. I find it excellent. I have two versions - 2004 and 2006. When I'm planning a towed journey I prefer to use the 2004 version because the average speed can be set precisely. 48mph seems to be fairly accurate for me. The later versions only have average or less than average, which are both too fast for calculating towing speeds.

I have used many including Mappy, RAC and AA but I find Via Michelin excellant as it has the option for caravans and its tolls option seems to be always correct. What Id like to see is fuel stops on the way, I use the ADAC route finder for this as I am a member of ADAC.

I have just started using the Green flag routefinder,It,s a version of Via Michelin But IMO it seems clearer to read & use

both allow for caravans & diferrent size cars & fuels ,also options for different types of routes Ie toll, sightseeing ,economical, ect Although Michelin.Mappy ect,ect seem to have diferent route preferences to my TOM TOM 720 !!!

We have used Michelin till this year when we let our Blaupunkt sat nav take control in our new car. As we were travelling a route we have done a few times before we were just seeing if sat nav took us a different way. The only part of the journey that was different from Michelin was the route through Paris but it worked ok

I've used Michelin last three years and had back up with tom tom, this year I've changes to garmin and hoping for good results.People are always saying keep clear of Paris i'm heading for Salbris or Melun, going via Paris quicker but not having done it bit wary any thoughts on it
