Best time to trade in?

Hi, is there a 'best' time to trade in my 2 year old van for a new one. With cars some reckon on 3 years. Is it the same for caravans? We paid £12,500 plus a further £900 for the motor mover and I was just offered £9,000 part ex against a £15,500 new twin axle (without mover). I thought with my hard earned savings earning little interest it may be a good time to change. Is there a time when the depreciation bottoms out. Any views welcome.
 
I don't believe there is a 'best time'. What you really want is to find a dealer who is trying hard to move the very van you are interested in, and who will give you the best 'swopover' deal. Whether that be the start or end of a season is not an issue.
