Big river con

Last night The wife ordered three items from the big river. As she is a prime member delivery was for today. Once order was placed it changed to delivery friday. How do these people get away with such a con.

No doubt they figured out where in the country you are. We regularly get the delayed delivery option asked where we are located even to the point of providing screen shots of house the lane the google street view as well as What3words which gives you a 1m square like a grid reference. Or you can do as i often do and cancel the thing.😀

I’ve generally found Amazon Prime deliveries very good. Ordering last night for delivery today is quite a tight window. It only requires a slight hiccup in the supply chain to cause a delay. Worker goes sick, warehouse problem, vehicle malfunction or road conditions could all conspire to create a delay. Don’t let it spoil your day too much.

I don't use Amazon Prime - but I have noticed in recent months that non-Prime deliveries have been quicker, often next day - sometimes annoyingly early in that we arrange to stay in but they deliver the day before when we're out!

With One of the Amazon logistics depots being only 6 miles away from us at J13 on the M1. We don't use Prime, we normally get a delivery the next day.
Billy maybe they have sent it via the Black cat roundabout on the A1, which has huge delays .

Usually my stuff comes down from big depot at dunfermline. Point is, website says buy now for prime delivery next day, ordered items, paid, order went through, then it comes up delivery Friday.

At least they have not done what Debenhams did. We paid over £500 for an item plus a delivery charge for large item was added. They then cancelled order and did a refund, minus the delivery cost, so we paid delivery on an item we never had. When asking why this charge was not refunded they do not even reply.

I also brought something from Amazon and we had prime delivery it said next day and it arrived in the morning very impressed with there service

I'm not part of Prime but my free evaluation stuff from them can sometimes be delivered next day but that depends on which hub it's coming from. I don't expect next day, especially since couriers here don't work on Saturday or Sunday and the Post Office don't do Sundays.

Even the few times I've tried Prime for free I'm not really expecting next day delivery.

Marketplace sellers set their own rules.

Some items have a cut off time for next day delivery so if you order late in the day you may not get it the following day.

Because like a lot of us you live in the sticks😜
As they say it's a postcode lottery. We are Prime members . I cannot fault the delivery. Sometimes things ordered before noon will arrive same day before 10.00 pm.
Caravan parts don't enjoy this performance and the p&p are very expensive
