Boat a Home on the Rhine

Sometime ago, we read in a caravan magazine that you can hire an individual boat on the Rhine on which you could place your caravan and combine a boating and caravanning holiday. There was also a website about it.

Has anyone come across this?

Although I have heard of boats upon which you can place a caravan, I think it would hardly be feasible on the Rhine. Because of heavy barge traffic on the Rhine there are very strict rules about navigating on the river and you would need a licence to do so. I don't know how to obtain such a licence or to have an existing licence issued elsewhere recognised for use in Germany.
