brittany camp sites or similar

can anyone recommend any campsites in the north or west of brittany as we are looking to go at the end of august for our first trip to france with a ten and eight year old.how long does it take from calais ,whats the weather like that time of year etc thanks

Lee,

"Camping Les Capucines" is on the North Brittany coast, with excellent reviews in the guide books, about 10 km to the west of the Lannion, and close to the very large beach of "La Lieue de Greve"

We been twice in six years, in June, and even then it's busy.

Small on-site shop, bread and pastries are ordered from local baker, owner's wife asks if you want to pre-order the same meal she cooks for her family. Local and hyper-market in Lannion.

Driving:

The North Brittany coast is about 350 - 400 miles from Calais, so expect this to take 7+ hours - and you may want to stop overnight somewhere in Normandy

Hi,

Camping Des Ormes (or Chateau Des Ormes) is a seriously good site just outside the old town of Dol De Bretaign. Golf, fishing, huge pool/waterpark. Excellent for families and only an a couple of hours from Le Havre. Weather can be a bit hit and miss but it's usually better than here.
