Has anyone else had the shock of thier life? I have been checking the website for prices for Plymouth to Roscoff next Aug. The price has increased by £140 in the last week or so, now a whopping £870. Do I leave it in the hope of it coming down or book now and hope for the best. Last year I paid £710 for exactly the same crossing. Anyone else think this is expensive. BF have said the bookings are very busy already. Denise

It will be the usual excuses. Fuel has gone up significantly in the last couple of months and the drop in value of the Pound against the Euro etc etc.

Actually, what you are quoting was similar to numbers i looked at a year or so back, again for high season.

I have booked with them for next year, but a single trip in late April and paid

urrrr. I would say that's expensive. Don't get me wrong if that's the crossing you want to have and you are willing to pay the price that's fine.

But,

Hi.

You should consider LD Lines if you are looking for a bit more flexibility than Condor.

LD run Ports - Le Havre and from Easter will operate a conventional ferry and a huge sea cat, much bigger than the Condor versions.

I have travelled with them many times and have no complaint, the service is slightly more basic than Brittany.

Last year I saved

My apologies. My geography went haywire. I had assumed the post referred to the Plymouth-Santander route, which is what i have booked. I had to go and look at the map to see where Roscoff actually was, and yes, if that was the price then Denise was being taken for a ride.

Possibly trying various days in the week could show a significant improvement, or try the Clubs and see what they offer.
