So we are back from 15 nights in Benodet, travel out was straightforward, I have already posted about how quiet the boat was, elsewhere, We stayed at Camping Du Letty, one o f the best sites we have ever used, it is tourer and camping only, and only open from June until end of August. We had a Privilege pitch which gave us water, waste and electricity, plus a cabin with shower, toilet , basin , fridge and barbecue for our exclusive use. the site has pretty much everything you may need ,perhaps Google it if you would like to see what is on offer. When we arrived it was about quarter full, and when we left it was virtually full, mostly French and German campers, with some Brits and Dutch. Noticed far fewer Brit registrations generally, may be Covid related or school holidays not started yet. Coming back we got to Roscoff and pulled over by French Customs, delightful young lady was most upset that we hadn't had our passports stamped on the inbound trip, after some delay she accepted we had travelled on the dates we said and stamped our passports with 11 July and hand written explanation that we had arrived in France on 26 June, however we realised that we have never checked our passports once they are handed back to us, so will do so from now on. Boat coming back was nowhere near full again, 2x Lorries, 5x caravans, more motorhomes and rest cars and motorbikes, easy getting through Border Control and on our way, then Welcome back to England, road works, road closures for more roadworks and diversion that added on 30 minutes to our journey home. In France we saw no temporary traffic lights, only a couple of roadworks and they involved a group of men with shovels and small machines, and a temporary speed limit. Diesel was cheaper at garages than supermarkets, and as usual in France was cheaper than petrol. Food and drink when eating out was reasonable, we thought, and the supermarkets were well stocked with plenty of choice. Only saw about 5 empty and closed shops in the time we were there, where we live there are 5 in 1 street. Couple of things to be aware of the site is mostly cash free and you load your wristband, with cash at reception, or via internet, and you need to pay a 300 euro deposit for the privilege pitch, which you get back once the girls on site check you have left the cabin undamaged and clean. this was our trip that was pre Covid from 2 years ago, and it was great to get back to France. When we travelled back BF had introduced mask wearing policy in all public areas, felt really strange after our last few weeks of freedom.
