Just getting ready to go away — opened the door and locked the catch, and lo and behold, the wind caught the door and broke the catch
  • Keep your external door open.
  • Retains the habitation door to the exterior of your van
What are these caravans made with? I can’t believe this. Can I repair it myself, or is it another trip to the dealer with a minimum £70.00-an-hour charge?

Do you mean the catch that secures the lock or the plastic retainer catch that holds the door open?
Various types of glues and epoxy resins are a main feature of my caravan tool box😎

You will need to clean off the old mastic and bed the replacement on ‘W4 mastic sealing strip’ . I think the plastic gets brittle and if like mine gets somewhat discoloured so the rereplacement will look the part too!

We’ve just got back from Black Knowl. First night in and the kitchen Reich tap stopped working, bit of googling showed the culprit to be the Ceramic Cartridge Insert, the tap is near £170 plus labour and the Cartridge was 6-8 week back order.
Found one on Amazon for £24, ordered and just fitted it, fiddly job but 5 screws and a dab of silicone grease and 10 mins work!
Always worthwhile looking for the parts and having a go eh
