Can I just replace this broken part or does the whole arm need replacing.

Looks like a polyplastic strut..the nut is usually captivated in position...on the adjuster look for a "P" trade mark..if present there are two types of fitting them...Early type have 2 small screws holding them in place..later types slide on...... Another make is ellba these have the name embossed on the Outer side of the window...hope this helps,,Gary

It's a bit of a pain really, I was going to replace the stay but then I noticed the bottom part of the stay is glued inside the window.

The top part of the arm is held in place by a pin, I'm not sure how to release it.

On my caravan, the top part unscrews from the frame. On the bottom part, there is a small hole near the handle which you push in with something small and pointed, and the handle slides off the window bracket.

I've bought a replacement top part, I've got the old one off, just need to get the pin out of the top to get the stem part free to slide the new one on hopefully.

Yes you can just get that bit from Amazon, about a tenner. Easy to do, but you may have to cut the old, broken one off, as the pin would be difficult to get out. Did one last week. 👍

Are you sorted now..if your having probs with the plastic pellet that goes into the new piece before the adjuster try poking into the strut carefully then retrieve it.. it's about 4mm dia and 5mm long... it's used to stop metal to metal contact between aluminium strut and screw adjuster

All fixed, bought the window tensioner on ebay for £8.50, I removed the screws holding the stay to the frame, then poked the locking pin out with a mini flat head screwdriver, slipped the new one on, pushed the pin in with pliers.
There is another locking pin at the base and the fit is tight so I can't get the holes to line up.
I could drill a little hole to pop the pin in but I can't see it coming off.
