See Nov 08 PC Mag page 8, letter from Keith Moore.

I've stayed at this site a few times, certainly before the CC bought it and found it ok. Always busy, now I know why! Keith and his cronies bagged the place for themselves!

Come on Keith if you want a group gathering as you state , buy your own field. There must be some fat cat directors from Lehman Bros who would love to realise some cash by selling you one of their fields.

Historically the CC in my view have restricted seasonal pitches , on the whole towards the end of the season. The allocations and places are listed in a recent CC Magazine and are allocated on a first come first served basis. All other rules apply.

So, sorry Keith , but at long last the rest of us CC members dying to visit pretty Brecon can do so now you no longer enjoy your monopoly.

That said I do understand your upset but in fairness there are others to consider too.

Cheers

Alan

Is there any possibility you could type the letter from Keith Moore and put it on here as I no longer buy the magazine? Then I will be able to understand what you are talking about.

I stopped at this site in 2005 and wasn't impressed.

Many thanks.

"SEASONAL NEIGHBOURS.

Have you ever dreamt of having an ideal sanctuary? My family and 41 others have been lucky enough over the past few years to have one in the seasonal pitches of Brynich Caravan Park, Brecon. Over the years we have become a close knit community with more than 100 seasonal residents on site from march until the end of October each year.

The couples and households of various ages and backgrounds see themselves as an extended family, providing each other with support and friendship. There is always someone there to talk to , to make you laugh or help you through dificult times. Children have a great deal of freedom in a safe environment.

We've had a beneficial impact on the local economy not just during summer- many of us also visit during the winter.

Unfortunately, this will all cease to exist at the end of October. The Caravan Club bought the site in March from the Jones family, who founded the park and helped establish our community. We have all been issued with what can only be described as a letter of eviction. We are searching for a new site. Because there are long waiting lists for pitches, some of the residents have decided to sell their vans and more may follow. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our friends and the local community for the help and support they have provided during our time at the Brynich site.

KEITH MOORE, ON BEHALF OF THE SEASONAL RESIDENTS OF BRYNICH CARAVAN PARK".

Practical Caravan says:-

"Many sites , including many run by the Caravan Club, offer seasonal pitches. But there are long waiting lists for these. The Club's marketing Director, Nick Lomas, says it is primarily a touring organisation and that Brecon will benefit from having more touring caravannersstaying over. He added, We are sorry that people with existing seasonal pitches are disappointed, but they are welcome to visit the site".

You should buy the mag!

Cheers

We stayed at Brynich in June this year, the pitch we had was so close to other caravans it put us off returning. I dont think the weather helped, it rained from when we arrived to when we left.

Im very sorry you all to leave your seasonal pitches but its probably due to that fact that it was very difficult to get a pitch at brynich, maybe you should start a club of your own therefore you can all meet up and reminise of past times under the the Jones family who in my opinion was too wrapped up in their own little world and thought they was something more important that a caravan park owner (brecon royality, i think not) Sorry but more room for everyone else now

Surely the purpose of a touring park is for tourers? If you want to stay in one place, then buy a static or a cottage, and leave the touring sites for those who want to do what caravans were made for--TOUR!!

Besides, there's a much nicer site just up the road, although, sadly, that also has some "fixed" caravans now.
