We just switched from a Bulldog 200Q to an Alko 1300 (both purchased second-hand) - I preferred the Bulldog. Maybe it's just me but the Bulldog arm is a big leaf-spring and seems to suppress pitching (up & down) motion much better than the Alko. The friction pads seem fine & there's no snaking so I presume htis is a characteristic of the Alko's pure friction method v. Bulldog's friction & spring. The Alko is more convenient however.

Yes, we've had a Bulldog for several years now. Absolutely superb, and completely eliminates all the pitching and sway if you do get a sudden change of weather or road surface.

Absolutely essential on Motorways, when the big lorries can set up dangerous slipstream and suction effects.

Extremely well made product, and highly reccommended.
